The Colombian government declared a "national disaster" after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck the western part of the country Monday.

The quake shook several major cities, including Bogotá, Cali and Medellín. At least 20 people were reported dead in the city of Pereira, about 35 miles from the epicenter.
